Mother Nature just sent us a few asteroid calling cards in the past few days to remind us that we have to watch the skies and prepare for the inevitable - a city killer asteroid.
This is not sci-fi but science. Read these two Washington Post stories:

The second story its far more troubling as this VERY CLOSE encounter with a 100-meter asteroid passing a mere 42,000 mile from Earth shows the clear and present danger we face. If it had hit, and one will someday, it would have released an explosive force of 10 million tons of TNT - the equivalent of a hydrogen bomb.
It was JUST 111 years ago on June 30, 1908 that an event of this size took place over the unpopulated
area of Tunguska, Russia. 80 million trees and 800 square miles of forest went up in flames and smoke in what is now known as the Tunguska Event.
We need NASA to build the NEOCam to help find these objects so we can be prepared to evacuate a city that is ground zero for an incoming city killer asteroid. WE NEED IT NOW!!!
