Hey Space Placers!
DAVINCI+ will send a meter-diameter probe to brave the high temperatures and pressures near Venus’ surface to explore the atmosphere from above the clouds to near the surface of a terrain that may have been a past a continent. During its final kilometers of free-fall descent (shown here), the probe will capture spectacular images and chemistry measurements of the deepest atmosphere on Venus for the first time.

NASA is headed back to Venus with two new missions called Deep Atmosphere Venus Investigation of Noble gases, Chemistry, and Imaging Plus (DAVINCI+) and Venus Emissivity, Radio Science, InSAR, Topography, and Spectroscopy (VERITAS)
It has been a LONG time since NASA or any nation, really, had a solely dedicated mission to Earth's "twin planet".
DAVINCI+ and VERITAS are designed to help scientists understand why Venus evolved from a likely water world like Earth to a hell hole of lead melting temperatures and acid rain.
The missions are scheduled for launch 2028-2030.
