Hey Space Placers,
I am pretty sure you are into social media. Hopefully you have developed a "smell test" that helps you spot misinformation and/or hyped up space and astronomy stories.
Here are two instances you need to be aware of.
SOLAR MISINFORMATION REGARDING INTERNET
BOTTOM LINE: NO SOLAR CAUSED INTERNET APOCALYPSE
AND
AURORA VISIBLE IN MORE THAN A DOZEN STATES ON THURSDAY
BOTTOM LINE: CURRENT PREDICTIONS FROM MULTIPLE SOURCES DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PREDICTION.
I will be monitoring space weather data in real time to see if conditions for the appearance of Aurora are likely.
Asteroids are usually the most common overhyped - apocalypse headlines and are quite frequent.
