U.S. ‘on schedule’ in race with China to land people on moon, NASA chief says

 Hey, Space Placers!

Tomorrow, June 25th, China's Chang'e 6 lunar mission is supposed to be returning to Earth for re-entry carrying 2 kilograms of lunar samples from the Moon's South Pole-Aiken Basin. If successful, this will be a historic space first as we have no samples from there.

China has claimed they will have Taikonauts on the Moon by 2030. NASA currently has the Artemis III mission scheduled to land astronauts on the Moon by late 2026. Both countries have a ways to go before reaching these goals.

Get a good read on this "Moon race" with this article.

I maintain that for the US it is "political will" - read Congress funding NASA and its Artemis program - that will determine the success of returning to the Moon to stay this time.

The mentioning in the article about Russia deploying a nuclear weapon on orbit is not surprising as they will do anything to gain world dominance and relevancy - ANYTHING.

We are in perilous times as a species unfortunately and outer space is just an extension for certain countries to extend their perilous political policies to the endangerment of civilization and the human race.
