If you are up early before the Sun, take a peek out to the Southeast and spot bright Mercury. It is the brightest "star" in that section of the sky just above the horizon.

As we get ready to close out 2024 the Sun is gearing up some big sunspots as you can see in the pic taken 12/22/24 with my Unistellar Odyssey Pro. The Sun will remain active in 2025 during Solar Maximum and on 12/24/24 a spacecraft is fly closer to the Sun than any spacecraft in history - more on that tomorrow.
