Meet Quipu, largest known structure in the universe

 Hey, Space Placers!

Quipu: A globe-shaped map with differently colored dots, most dots red and stretching almost from top to bottom.

The colored dots represent different superstructures out to 800 million light-years from Earth. The red dots denote Quipu, the largest known structure in the nearby universe. Yellow is Sculptor-Pegasus superstructure, green is Serpens-Corona Borealis, purple is Hercules and blue is Shapley. Image via Böhringer et al. Astronomy and Astrophysics, 2025.

The Universe continues to surprise and amaze us with the never ending new discoveries.

Read about the CURRENT largest known structure in the universe. I have a feeling we will find a new leader at some future date.
