BUTCH & SUNI ARE GETTING CLOSE TO COMING HOME

 Hey, Space Placers!

NASA crew

NASA astronauts Anne McClain, commander and Nichole Ayers, pilot, along with mission specialists JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Takuya Onishi and Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov, are targeted to launch at 7:48 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, March 12, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA Kennedy to the International Space Station. (Image: NASA)

Naval Aviators/NASA Astronauts Butch Williams and Suni Williams are getting ready to come home after their very extended stay aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Whether it is the sea or outer space, Navy personnel are ALWAYS aware of the possible extension of their deployment due to operational or mechanical requirements. What was to be about a week in space for them last year morphed into nine months. They met the challenge in typical Navy fashion - performing their duty as required.

They are scheduled for a March 16th departure from ISS and will return to a well deserved hero's welcome and a place in the history books of spaceflight. They will undergo extensive medical exams and debriefs plus a return to their loved ones after so long - nothing like a homecoming after returning from a deployment.

Godspeed and safe travels shipmates!
